In accordance with management directives, this position is responsible for planning, organizing, developing and directing the overall operation of facility services to assure that facilities are maintained in a safe and comfortable environment in accordance with policies and procedures, current federal, state and local standards and guidelines and regulations governing our facilities. This position mandates that the employee be able to perform all of the following functions:

- Maintain a preventive maintenance program, quality standards and critical time schedules
- Maintain the interior and exterior of all buildings and grounds in all seasons
- Ensure safety of all employees and visitors to the various locations
- Act as primary contact when Facilities Managers is not available for all service and maintenance to office and facility equipment
- Other functions as assigned by necessity

This position may perform any combination of the following duties:

- Prepare unit's operating and capital budget

- Schedule approved major facility purchases, remodeling and special projects as assigned

- Purchase equipment and supplies as necessary

- Participate in selection and management of required outside vendors/consultants

- Review contractor billing for accuracy

- Ensure performance, condition and reliability of all facility equipment to ensure efficient operation

- Develop, implement and maintain maintenance policies and procedures

- Assure that outside services are properly completed in accordance with contracts/work orders

- Conduct assessment of facilities to identify needed improvements and repairs

- Coordinate plan for fire evacuation and disaster response, as well as hazardous waste disposal programs, with Safety Manager

- Maintain updated records for all state, federal, and insurance inspections

- Purchase equipment and supplies as necessary

- Perform other work related duties as required

Comprehensive knowledge of project and construction management, including development of specifications and drawings and thorough understanding of the bidding process.

Significant talent in directing outside professional services for project designs, including civil, electrical, geological and mechanical engineers, as well as architects; strong communication skills, as well as excellent project management skills to complete projects within budgets and schedules. Working knowledge of CAD systems and project management software.

Must have or be willing to obtain Professional Engineers Certificate (PE).

Four year college degree or related experience acceptable to the company.
